Data Deletion
Last updated: September 2026
1. Your right to deletion
Tickethub.ng is operated by Coetara Technologies Limited (RC 9795159). You can ask us to delete your account and the personal information we hold about you. This page explains how to ask, what we can remove straight away, what we have to keep and why, and what to do about information an event organiser holds. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy.
2. How to make a request
Email hi@tickethub.ng with the subject line Data deletion request. Please send it from the email address on the account, because that is the fastest way for us to confirm it is really you.
Include:
- The email address on the account.
- Your full name as it appears on the account.
- Whether you want the whole account deleted, or only specific information.
- If you cannot send it from the account email, tell us why and we will ask for something else that proves the account is yours.
We reply to confirm we have received it, and we complete the request within 30 days. If we need longer, for example because a payout or a refund is still in flight, we will tell you and explain why. Making a request is free.
3. What organisers can delete themselves
If you are an organiser you do not need to email us for most of it. In your dashboard you can delete or edit your own records directly, including:
- Draft and unpublished events, communities and experiences.
- Event content you uploaded, including images, descriptions and line-ups.
- Custom registration questions, so you stop collecting a field you no longer need.
- Coupons, campaign links, invites and waitlist entries.
- Your profile details, public handle, social links and bank details.
- Your email and notification preferences.
A published event with tickets already sold cannot simply be wiped, because attendees hold valid tickets and the sale is a financial record. Contact us and we will work out the right route, which is usually to cancel and refund first, then close the record.
4. If an organiser holds your data
This is the part people most often get stuck on, so it is worth being clear. When you buy a ticket or register for an event, the organiser receives your details and becomes responsible for them. Guest lists, check-in records, answers to their registration questions, survey responses and any report they exported are the organiser's data. For that data the organiser is the controller and we only act on their instructions.
So contact the organiser first. Their contact details are on the event page. Ask them to delete what they hold and to remove you from their own mailing list, which sits outside Tickethub.ng.
If the organiser does not respond, or you cannot reach them, email us at hi@tickethub.ng. We will pass the request on, remind them of their duty, and support them in honouring it. We cannot delete an organiser's records on our own initiative, but we will not leave you without a route either.
5. What we delete
When we act on a full account deletion request we remove or anonymise:
- Your name, bio, profile photo, public handle and social links.
- Your phone number, unless it is attached to a transaction record we must keep.
- Your sign in credentials, two-factor secrets and trusted device records.
- Your saved bank details, once no payout is outstanding.
- Your marketing subscriptions, so we stop contacting you.
- Draft listings and content that has no completed sale attached.
- Uploaded images that are not part of a live listing or a completed transaction record.
- Your support chat history and product analytics profile.
Where we cannot delete a record outright, we strip it back so it no longer identifies you. A historic order, for example, keeps its amount, date and fee for the accounts, but the buyer is reduced to an internal reference.
6. What we must keep, and for how long
Some records we are legally required to keep even after you ask us to delete your account. We keep the minimum needed, we lock it down, and we do not use it for anything else.
- Transaction, ticket and payout records. At least seven years from the date of the transaction, for tax and accounting.
- Account and organiser records. Seven years after the account is closed, for tax and anti money laundering record keeping.
- Identity verification (KYC) records. At least seven years from the end of our relationship with you.
- Marketing consent records. Two years after you withdraw consent, so we can show we honoured the withdrawal.
- Support correspondence. Up to three years.
- Fraud, spam and suspension records. A minimal record so that an account closed for fraud cannot simply be recreated.
- Anything under active dispute. Until the dispute, chargeback, refund or legal claim is finished, plus the periods above.
When a period ends, the record is deleted or anonymised. Anonymised, aggregated statistics that cannot identify you may be kept indefinitely.
7. What deletion means for you
- Deleting your account is not reversible. We cannot restore it, so download anything you want to keep first.
- You will lose access to tickets held in the account. If you have an upcoming event, wait until after it, or save your ticket confirmation email first.
- Organisers lose access to their sales history, attendee lists and analytics. Export your reports before you ask.
- Any outstanding payout is settled before the account closes. We cannot pay out to an account we have deleted the bank details from.
- If you only want to stop the email, you do not need deletion. Use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or change your email preferences in dashboard settings.
8. Other requests and complaints
Deletion is one of several rights you have. You can also ask for a copy of your data, have it corrected, object to a particular use, withdraw consent, ask for your data in a portable format, or ask a person to review an automated decision. Section 15 of the Privacy Policy sets them all out.
If you are unhappy with how we handled a request, tell us first at hi@tickethub.ng and we will try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission at any time.
