About This Event
The Lekki International Film Festival (Lekkifest) returns to Lagos from 17 to 21 November 2026 for five days celebrating film, visual storytelling, advertising and creative media, literature, spoken word and the wider creative industries.
Lekkifest 2026 brings filmmakers, writers, performers, advertising professionals, media practitioners, creative companies, cultural organisations and audiences together for screenings, conversations, performances, presentations, networking and recognition of outstanding creative work.
Lekkifest is a multidisciplinary celebration of film and contemporary creative expression. For its 2026 edition, the festival expands beyond the conventional film festival format to bring the screen, the written word and the creative industries together in one programme, organised around three pillars.
Film's Best
The flagship film programme celebrates outstanding feature films, short films, documentaries, indigenous-language productions and emerging forms of filmmaking, including mobile-phone and AI-assisted filmmaking.
Creative Media Awards
A celebration of excellence in advertising and creative communication, including television and digital commercials, branded content, still-image advertising, public-service campaigns and other forms of promotional creativity.
Spoken Word / Literature
A platform for writers, poets, performers, publishers and literary organisations, covering poetry, prose, dramatic writing, spoken-word performance and other forms of written and performed literature.
The festival includes film screenings, presentations, conversations, networking, award activities and special events across five days in Lagos.
