Upper Room: An Oasis Easter Saturday Experience

God’s desire for this event is to create an atmosphere that mirrors the expectation for the Upper Room on what we know as Easter Saturday. The day after Jesus’ death fell on the Sabbath, and although the disciples didn't fully understand when/if He would return, they were expected to rest as they waited.

The Upper Room is not only a place where the Holy Spirit came upon the disciples, but the Bible records that the disciples had dwelt there since the time of the Last supper. Therefore, it stands throughout time to represent a place that God always is and always will be - and in this case, we acknowledge it as a place of rest.

Here, the saints are deliberately positioned to wait intently on God. Waiting to us is not passive, but faithfulness in surrendering ourselves to the will of God and becoming all that He has made us to be.
