Cookie Policy

1. What this page is
Tickethub.ng is operated by Coetara Technologies Limited (RC 9795159). This page lists the cookies and browser storage the platform actually uses, what each one is for, and how long it lasts. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy.
We use three kinds of storage. Cookies are small files your browser sends back to the server on each request. Local storage stays on your device until it is cleared and is never sent automatically. Session storage is cleared when you close the tab. We list all three here because from your point of view they raise the same question, which is what is being kept about me and for how long.
2. Being honest about consent
There is no cookie consent banner on Tickethub.ng today. That means analytics and advertising are not held back behind an opt in, and we are not going to claim otherwise on this page. We are building a consent banner, and when it ships this page and the privacy policy will be updated to match.
Until then, section 6 sets out exactly how to switch each category off. Necessary storage cannot be switched off, because sign in, checkout and door scanning stop working without it.
3. Necessary, always on
These keep you signed in, protect your account, hold your basket through checkout, and remember the choices you have made about how the site looks. Blocking them will break sign in or checkout.
| Name | Type | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| tickethub_token | Local storage | Holds your sign in token so you stay signed in between visits. Set when you choose to be remembered. | Until you sign out or clear your browser data |
| tickethub_token_session | Session storage | Holds your sign in token for this tab only, when you choose not to be remembered on the device. | Until you close the tab |
| tickethub_remember | Cookie | Records whether you asked us to remember you on this device, so the sign in form behaves correctly. | 1 year |
| tickethub_2fa_token, tickethub_2fa_options | Local storage | Carries the short-lived challenge between the password step and the two-factor step, and remembers which two-factor methods your account offers. | Until the challenge is completed or you sign out |
| tickethub_trusted_2fa | Cookie and local storage | Marks this device as trusted so we do not ask for a two-factor code every single time you sign in. | Until the expiry our server sets when you trust the device |
| tickethub_impersonation_admin_token | Session storage | Staff only. Safely stores an administrator's own token while they are viewing the platform as another user for support, so they can switch back. | Until the tab closes or they switch back |
| tickethub-theme | Local storage | Remembers whether you chose light or dark mode. If you have not chosen, we follow your device setting instead. | Until you clear your browser data |
| tickethub_event_booking_sessions | Session storage | Keeps the tickets you selected and your pending transaction code while you go through checkout, so a page refresh does not lose your basket. | Until the tab closes or the booking completes |
| tickethub_visitor_country | Cookie | Stores the two-letter country code our hosting layer reads from your connection. Used to decide whether advertising is shown and to set sensible regional defaults. | 30 days |
| tickethub_browse_view | Local storage | Remembers whether you prefer grid or list layout when browsing events. | Until you clear your browser data |
| Check-in allow list, re-entry rule and offline queue | Local storage | For organisers and access managers only. Caches the guest list for an event so the door scanner keeps working when the venue network drops, and queues scans made offline until they can be sent. | Until the scan queue is cleared or synced |
| tickethub-support-chat-v1 | Local storage | Keeps your support chat history on your own device so the conversation is still there if you reload. | Until you clear the chat or your browser data |
| th_start_handoff | Session storage | Carries a part-finished listing between the quick start flow and the full create form, so you do not retype it. | Until the tab closes |
4. Analytics
These tell us how the product is used so we can fix what is confusing. They do not read your messages, your bank details or your identity documents.
| Name | Type | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| PostHog cookies and local storage (names begin with ph_) | Cookie and local storage | Product analytics. Records which pages and features are used so we can see where people get stuck. PostHog starts switched off and captures nothing until we switch it on, which we do for signed in users and for anonymous visitors only on the sign in and registration pages and on a single event page during the buying flow. Session recording is disabled. | Up to 1 year |
| th_blog_visitor | Local storage | A random identifier, not linked to your name or email, used to track reading progress, streaks and badges on the blog. | Until you clear your browser data |
5. Marketing and attribution
Most of these exist so the right person gets paid. When a promoter shares a link and you buy a ticket, the cookie is what proves the sale came from them. The advertising cookies are set by Google, not by us.
| Name | Type | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| tickethub_promo | Cookie | Records which promoter link brought you to an event, so the right promoter is credited for the sale and paid their commission. | 30 days |
| aff_code, scout_ref | Cookie | Records which affiliate or scout referred you, so a referral is credited when you register as an organiser. | 30 days |
| tickethub_traffic, tickethub_campaign_attribution | Cookie and session storage | Stores campaign codes and UTM parameters from the link you arrived on, plus any advertising click identifier such as those Meta, Google or TikTok add to a URL, so an organiser can see which campaign produced a sale. | 30 days for the cookie, until the tab closes for the session storage |
| Google AdSense cookies (set by Google) | Third-party cookie | Advertising on some public pages. Google uses these to select and measure adverts. AdSense never loads on the organiser dashboard, the admin area, the sign in pages, the check-in tool or the embeddable widgets. | Set by Google, see the Google privacy policy |
6. How to control these
- Everything at once. Every browser lets you block or delete cookies and site data, either for all sites or just for tickethub.ng. Look for Privacy or Site settings in your browser menu. Be aware that blocking necessary storage will stop you signing in or completing a purchase.
- Analytics.Turn on your browser's Do Not Track or tracking protection setting, block posthog.com in a content blocker, or email us and we will exclude your account from product analytics.
- Advertising. Manage personalised advertising in your Google account settings, or use a content blocker. Advertising never appears on the dashboard, the admin area, the sign in pages, the check-in tool or the embed widgets.
- Attribution. Clearing your cookies removes the promoter and campaign codes. Blocking them does not break checkout, it only means a promoter may not be credited for the sale.
- Marketing email. Cookies are separate from email. Use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or change your email preferences in dashboard settings.
7. Third parties on our pages
Some cookies are set by other companies whose content appears on our pages, not by us. That includes the Paystack checkout, embedded Google Maps on some event and experience pages, Google Fonts, and Google AdSense. Those companies follow their own privacy and cookie terms, and we do not control what they set. The Privacy Policy names every provider we share information with.
8. Changes and contact
We will update this page when we add or remove storage, and when the consent banner ships. The "Last updated" date will change. If you think something is on your device that is not listed here, please tell us at hi@tickethub.ng and we will check and correct the page.
